SDM International Conference 2017: a privileged occasion for the project result dissemination
The 2017 4th Edition of the International Conference on SDM - Sustainable Design and Manufacturing, organised by KES International in partnership with Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna and held in Bologna on April 26th-28th, has been a privileged high level scientific context to disseminate the major results of the Less. Water Bev-Tech. Project.
Within the Invited Session IS08 Sustainability in industrial plant design & management: applications & experiences from practice, Dr. Marco Bortolini represented the Project consortium presenting the scientific paper “Design of an innovative plant for the wastewater recovery and purification in the food & beverage industry” co-authored by Marco Bortolini, Mauro Gamberi, Francesco Pilati, Alberto Regattieri and Riccardo Accorsi, belonging to the academic partner of the project.
The oral presentation, attended by 50 delegates belonging to academic and industrial international institutions started from a quick survey of the existing technologies for the raw water saving through its local collection and treatment before discharge and, then, outlined the design of the innovative industrial plant for the water closed-loop recovery, purification and local reuse of industrial water from the food & beverage industry developed within the Less. Water Bev-Tech. Project.
Positive feedback came from the audience having cross-sectorial background and parallel interests justifying the global interest on both the topic and the proposed technical solution.
